Re-Ssōne. Working towards zero waste, garments are repurposed, informed by a continuous creative project of utilising handcrafts and surplus fabrics from Ssōne collections.
Provenance facts. Embroidered using upcycled offcuts from our production process, by FABRICWORKS, a not-for-profit organisation which supports local communities, providing textile training and development programmes for unemployed women in the UK. Our denim, a mixture of organic and recycled cotton, has been supplied by ISKO™, a mill holding both the EU Ecolabel award for environmental excellence, and the Nordic Swan Ecolabel award. This garment was produced in Lancashire, at a factory which has been making uniforms and workwear for over 150 years.
Product description. This edition of the Oak A-line Skirt, reissued from The Visible Hand collection, has been embroidered with small plants and wildlife by the women of FABRICWORKS. It is a classic day-to-day piece, elevated with utility-inspired details; a contrast front zip, deep angled pockets and a strategic front split.
Please be careful in the first few wears of this garment as the deep colour of the denim will transfer and may stain lighter fabrics or accessories before washing. Wash with similar colours and expect it to evolve in time like all good denim.
