Re Ssōne. Working towards zero waste, garments are re purposed, informed by a continuous creative project of utilising handcrafs. Waste bulk fabrics from Ssone collections are collected and used as patchwork and embellishment to create unique special edition clothing and homeware.
Provenance facts. Grown in Europe, spun and woven in Italy, hemp requires one third of the water that cotton needs and is more durable, prolonging the life span of the garment.
The white sun dress has been over dyed in London with Woad. Woad has been used for thousands of years to dye wool and other natural fibres. It is native to Northern Europe and the British Isles. The dye is taken from the seed of the flower and offers an alternative to the harmful chemicals used in synthetic indigo dyeing whilst using a sustainable plant resource. Each piece due to botanical dyeing is completely unique and may differ slightly in colour.
